A podcast
about pop culture from the tubular triumvirate.
There will be witty banter, and discussions of how these beloved cartoons, shows, toy lines, and movies affected our lives. We’ll examine their places in the modern pop culture tapestry, assess how these gems from the past hold up, and ask if said properties could work in this modern landscape.
Check back regularly for content updates and special announcements. Give us a like and follow Twitter @yesterdazepod. If you’re in a position to help the show grow, please consider joining our Patreon, as every contribution helps bring you more of the sweet, sweet nostalgia you want and deserve.
5 years ago, Dustin Wikoff and Jason Tauscher set out to create a podcast celebrating the existing works of Jim Varney, and his beloved character Ernest P. Worrell. I, Derek J. Hoover, joined them because our friend Kevin couldn't...
The Importance of Seeing Ernest provided many unexpected opportunities, the least of which was forming a friendship with Ernest creator John "Buster" Cherry III. In time, Mr. Cherry came to entrust Dustin with a binder filled with scripts, treatments, and pitches that were never used for Ernest films. As IOSE came to an end, our next endeavor began: The Ernest P. Worrell Preservation Society. After three years, EPWPS came to its conclusion as well. This left us wondering what we could explore next. For some reason, Dustin and Jason decided to give me, the perennial 3rd chair funny man, a crack at structuring a new show for us. Thus, Yesterdaze was born.

SPECIALTIES: Funnyman/Pop Culture Junky/Peak Kidult
CODENAME: Hooverboss
Irreverent humor. Referential to the point of being downright esoteric. A checkered past so exquisite that it was ripe for a redemption arc. Derek has a deep affinity for cartoons, action figures, movies, shows, and films from the 80's and 90's as these things were adventurous escapes for him. His goal is to take you on a walk down memory lane to celebrate these treasures of the past with him and two of his oldest friends, all packaged with this trio's brand of humor.

Jason Tauscher
SPECIALTIES: Exceptional Interviewer/Mid-Century Modern Savant
CODENAME: Catfish
There's cool dry wit, and then there's Jason Tauscher. Devilishly clever and quick on his feet, Jason has shown a proclivity towards humor that many try to aspire toward, but very few achieve. Sometimes his jokes may start as a slow burn, but once they hit they leave you in stitches. Jason is coming off of eight years of cohosting his own show, Couch Pilots, that just closed out their 400 episode run. A very astute interviewer, Jason has had the privilege of speaking to a number of folks involved in film and television over the course of Couch Pilot's run. A notable point of pride for him would be his interview with Harry Shearer.

Dustin Wikoff
SPECIALTIES: Editor Extraordinaire/Music Guru
CODENAME: Dutch
Having met in high school, Dustin and Derek would go on to be roommates and lifelong friends. Dustin has been the host/creator of such podcasts as the incredible Drunken Lullabies, Drunk at the Movies, Dishing Disney, and the aforementioned Ernest programs, The Importance of Seeing Ernest and The Ernest P. Worrell Preservation Society. One must stay frosty when listening to something Dustin has put his editing touches on; one second you're listening intently to an amazing factoid, the next you're victim to a spit take courtesy of a well-placed audio drop.
